call me a noob! all my experience is with hydros so i decided to have my truck bagged by someone i thought they knew what they were doing. come to find out i got screwed. anyway he moved the battery to the bed and the wire going to the starter was spliced 3 times. the compressors were wired straight into one of those splices with no on/off switch. so when im riding and playing with the bags the compressors are constantley running and drainging my battery and then my truck kills cause my factory alternator cant keep up and the electric fan and fuel pump shut off. so my solution is i put an extra battery to run just the compressors and a 160amp alternator an ran all new wires to the starter. this seems to fix my problem but my question is shouldnt there be a relay or something between the compressors and batteries so it doesnt suck so many amps? any advice would be appriciated thanks

im assuming the compressors are on a pressure switch? if there viars with the viar pressure switch, it will work as the relay.

ya they are on a pressure switch and cut off at 180psi. and they are viars. i was thinking that there is something like an amp has a capacitor that stores energy or something. but the way it is hooked up now is working fine with the extra battery and bigger alternator.

yea 2 viars pull a ton of current. i always put a toggle in the ignition wire to the pressure switch so u can turn it off manually if you want.

i got me a toggle switch mounted inside now so i can turn it on and off and it has a pressure switch, so im guessing everyone has the same setup as i do. i think on the compressors it says they draw 25amps a piece and the factory alternator only puts out 63amps max, and with the electric fuel pump and electric fan it just cant keep up

DISCLAIMER: We did the z and added shocks.......DID NOT DO BAG WORK OR WIRING

Shannon that thing needs a complete rewire like we talked about

lol ya keef thats what im doing brotha. JESTERS METAL WORK did the screw up on it.anyway i got a 160amp alternator on it and the extra battery and reran all the wires on it os far so good just was wondering if anyone else had this same problem or its pretty common for the compressors to drain the factory system
