So at full drop on my car I still don't tuck in the front. Its about 2 finger or so from tucking tire. Right not I have universal sleeve bags up front and I was wondering what products are out there to help me go lower. I know that theres a kit made by easy street and airbagit.com but I'm not sure on the over all drop and I don't want to get the bags if I still won't tuck. I was thinking of switching to hydros, but I doubt that will happen with this car. I just want to get it on the road and not eating tires.

Any info/pics of some mac air struts would be great. Also if anyone on here sells them and can tell me the overall lifted length of a strut bag and the over all dropped height that would be great. I'm willing to give up lift for more of a drop.

PS: an Ion has the same body as a cobalt (delta), but the front towers are different so the mounting points are slightly different from ion to balt.

Thanks

You might call the guys at universal air and tell them what your up against... I spoke with the guys over there last year when I was building my game plan for the cobalt and they had a trick that involved flipping some stuff and a couple other parts but they had everything in stock and stuff for it.

I used 6" CCE Cylinders on the front with a power ball on top basically, it allowed me to keep my factory sway bars and fit a shock in there quite nicely. We tied the 6" cylinder to a 10" cylinder in the trunk with a 2600 lb bag pushing on it.

So it's all air still without the bag in the wheel well and all the issues that come with it.

is there any way you could post a pic of the front strut that you have now? I'm more of a visual learner then reading it.

But thanks for teh advice and the cars stance is just about in the area I'm looking for

I never considered this, but I could always get a second set of mac struts, cut the spring perch off, and ditch the spacer and weld a new bag plate to the strut, that should lower the bottom of the bag about 2 - 2.5" and I should be able to get the drop I wanted...

Not really - maybe a small amount, the bag has to stay above the tire, or it will hit.

right now it seems like I need to get a custom mac strut kit and alter it to suit my needs unless someone knows where I can get a pre fab strut kit that would work.

My main problem is that no one seems to be able to send me a picture of a pre assembled strut for my to take a look at.

Also I'd just like to say thanks to the guys at universal air, they've been helping me try to solve my problem. Right now it seems that if I cut off the spring purch and get rid of my spacer it would allow me to move my bag down another 2" which would alow me to sit where I want. Problem is I know my struts won't handle it because of the design. I think its going to be a universal mac kit for me and then get it assembled by my mechanic buddy at work. Unless someone has more info...

Get a UAS bags & brackets kit for your car. Then buy a set of coilover struts that use cartridges. This way you can safely modify the strut without welding a hole in it & burn the shit out of your arm like I have done lol. The cartridges can easily remove from the housing. All you have to do is cut off the hub mount brackets & move them up however many inches that the cartridge has space for. Usually they have around 1.5" or more. Then you just cut off the excess & reassemble it. Then thread the coilover rings all the way down. Hit me up bro on the # in my sig & I can better explain myself.

If you do call UAS, do not speak with a rep named Zach
