Ok, im making a tube console for my ram, and the top part, of what will be an arm rest area, i want to make a piece of stainless that will bolt in place. I want the piece to have dimpled holes in it, strictly for looks obviously lol
My questions are these...
Im going to have the piece water jet cut from 16g stainless steel, and all the holes that i want dimpled also cut. When your dimpleing these pieces, how clean will the stainless stay? what i mean is, i want to polish the stainless or give it a satin finish, do the dimple dies make amy wear marks or anything around the hole that is being dimpled?
Is 16g stainless pretty easy to dimple?
anyone have some general dimple die advice or pointers?
and last but not least, does anyone have some dimple dies that would want to tackle this for me? I really dont want to have to buy a set of them, just to do these one pieces, but i may consider it. I would ship the piece to you, and have a envilope for you to just drop it in the mail box when its done...
heres what im working on, the pieces of stainess will be up top, i have that piece of card stock represending the stainless right now...
