Easiest way to tell is to dismount the wheel and take the tire off the bead and inspect the inner and out lips and the surface where the tired sits against the inside barrel of the wheel.
I have heard stories of people stretching tires over an unmodified rim but that is definitely not the way to do it safely. Chances are pretty high that the wheel has been machined to fit the low pro tire.
Get some measurements and pics of the inner lip and bead area because I believe that is what gets the most machine work.
