I have been researching the pros and cons of going with an EDC. I have came to the conclusion that this may be the best way for me to go, but I have a few questions. I have a factory AC compressor now that was discharged when we bagged the truck. I really cannot find much info on converting this unti to an EDC, but I imagine that it will require an oiler of some sorts. Has anyone done this? If so, can it be done? Now to my question, is there a company or individual that makes York EDC brackets for hardbodys? My truck is an 88 so its the Z24 motor, which may be different than the KA24 in the newer trucks. Thanks in advance!

I wouldn't try to do it with the stock AC comp.
I would just buy an EDC york from autozone or something.

you will have to make brackets. I had to on my KA Engine

You can use your stock A/C, It just requires an oiler before the intake, and maintenance. I have KA24DE, i just built an L bracket with a back brace for my York 210. Take a look at my profile, there are pictures of in there, and i some more if you like. Good luck with your build. A York is well worth the work, especially if you don't already have A/C.

I had a york on my 85 720 with the 2.4l napz. I had to build a custom bracket, but kept the drawings. Would you want me to email them to you? I'm not sure if all the dimensions are on the drawing, but it should get you started.

Rich, if you wouldnt mind forwarding those drawings this direction, I would appreciate it. My buddy Ron used to have York on his Lincoln and I would love to do it on my 720. I'll PM you my email as well.

hey bj where and what clutch assembly would be used for the york...Depends on what vehicle your putting it on and how your doing it(piggy back or not)...If your going to piggy back it then you can just go to any parts store and tell them you need a pulley/clutch for a '81 F100 (I think thats the one....I'll have to check), usually runs about $60, if your doing an inline setup, let me know how many grooves your other pulleys are and I'll get ya a link or a part number on what pulley/clutch you need.
