i cant stand my 2.2 motor in my mazda anybody got any ideas on wat i could use or wat i gotta do to put a 302 in it

302 is considered a small block, based on its physical size.

right...a small block would be a lot easier too...dam, i got excited when i saw big block lol...just put a 572 Chevy Big Block and call it a day

you could put a 351 windsor in it too.. the block isnt much wider

me and my president did a small block chevy good old 350...not too hard but id sudjest forkin up the time and money to replace the rear end lol

This is one of my good friends' Mazda and it has a Dodge 360 in it. He also runs a set of my tube arms on it, not that it affects the motor by any means just another shaimless plug, lol.

Nall Chris...you make a good point. Big Block or small block....either will be significantly heavier than the stock 2.2. I good beefy set of uppers and lowers wouldn't hurt....

i would stick with the mazda theme and put in a built up rotary engine, a guy i know in the phoenix area put one in a mazda truck (pre-sundowner) and is estimating the hp at the wheels around 235hp. It may not sound like much but take into consideration the weight factors vs a SBC or SBF compaired to the weight of a wankel engine
