I have a B2000 and I want to remove the vacume hoses to cleanup the engine compartment. I have also battled several vacume leaks resulting in a rough idle that comes and goes. I have seen people delete these on other mazdas and the trucks ran better than ever! but I don't know how to contact the owners so I figured I would ask here. Emissions are not a concern where I live, I am not looking for more power just a smoother idle and a cleaner simpler engine. If you have made improvements please post what you did (pics would be great) thanks

Switch to a weber carb.If you remove the vacum lines from the stock carb it will put it into a limp home mode and run extremely rich.It will cause lots of problems and run like crap. The vacum lines are not for emissions it is a feedback system similar to fuel injection.Switching to a weber will allow you to get rid of the wiring harness on the passenger side wheel well. Here's a couple of pics.Sorry it's so dirty.

How much does that carb run$$ I can't tell by the pic but its not taller than stock is it? And where do you get one? I was hopeing to use the stock air cleaner but if I have to I will just pick up the webber.

You can get one brand new for $250 from weber carbs direct. The air cleaner is no taller than stock.
