agreed.

Lift it with a nice set of wheels and rugged tires.

Once you drop it it'll turn into a never ending project.. you'll want it lower.. you'll want to bag it.. then it's notched.. beds cut.. etc. etc. etc.

It's hard to drive a stock truck, so at least with a lift and some rollers it stands out, but you can still haul shit, have a full bed, and tow stuff around with alot less desire to keep feeding the habit.

Look into the RCD 2wd lift kit if your leaning that direction. I just bought a 99 silverado regular cab long bed to use as a work truck and I'm thinking that might be a good way for me to go. I need to maintain ground clearance to go on job sites and I do load the bed up sometimes as well as tow a trailer here and there. Lifting seems like a good option for what I need. I'm thinking a 6 inch suspension lift with a set of 17x9 simulated bead lock wheels and 33 inch tires is the ticket for me. That combo will lift the truck up 8 inches over stock but should be still plenty driveable in all conditions. I don't think the 33's will kill my mileage too badly and should be alright with my stock rear gear ratio as well. My 2 cents on the subject anyways, good luck!
