Anyone know if you can swap the 6 lug 4X4 drums and axles to the 2wd drums and axles? If so i bet you need backing plates too. But just curious if anyone knows for sure or has done this.

anyone?

The 4wd might have larger axles or drums maybe? Wouldn't it be easier to use the whole 2wd axle assembly?

Yes i wish they had. but they used to 4X4 rear to stay 6 lug but be more narrow than the nissan rear

^^Ah, I see what your saying now. Could you maybe try the dealer and see if they share parts like axles or bearings or backing plates? If the part numbers match your probably on the right track. You could have the 4x4 axles filled and drilled to 5 on 4 1/2 if all else fails. Maybe you could try Downey Off Road or LC Engineering and see if they can help you. I know LC was a great help finding me an oilpan for my Hilux when I needed it so its worth a shot.

Toyota 4wd axles are 30 spline and 2wd axles are 27 spline.

3/4 ton 2WD is 30 spline.

Also the differential can be changed out for 2WD as long as it is the same axle housing, because 3/4 tone stuff is hard to come by. Just make sure the studs are in the same spot, and you can drop a 2WD diff in the 4WD housing, and run those axles too. Also make sure it is from the same year range or your axles will be different lengths.
