I am having problems with the engine light coming on. The dealership has so far replaced what they called a defective fuel cap. The light came on again about 2 weeks later. This time I was on a trip and suddenly started smelling gas fumes really strong. The dealership this time replaced a fuel line hose that they said had a hole in it and also replaced a defective charcoal canister. I picked the car up on Friday afternoon. The light was not on. On Sunday, the light came back on again. I am totally frustrated.
The dealership does not seem to be able to pinpoint the problem and so far I have paid out between 4 & 5 hundred dollars. Has anyone else had this problem with their 2004 Toyota Avalon or any model of Toyota Avalon?
