I am looking to go with a 4 link with rod ends instead of poly-bushings. What kind of things should I take into consideration when getting them? Also would a 3/4" be a big/strong enough for a mid-size truck running 300-400 hp? I know I need to stay away from the low quality ends, but what makes a high quality end? Also would a 1.5" tube with 1/4" wall be enough or should i go bigger?

3/4" is plenty big, as is your size of tubing remember qa1 rod ends!

3/4" would be plenty, especially if you get the chromoly FK rod ends. I usually use 5/8" on a 4-link, or 3/4" on the single pivot of a 3-link. I think .25 wall is a bit excessive for the links though. I generally run .120 wall unless there is a bag on it.

thats why i said 1/4 wall is plenty big... lol we too use .120 wall, common misconception of trucks being built these days is overbuilding thinking your doing something by making everything you build 1/4" wall and some people even using 3/8" wall its all overkill unless maybe your building a body dropped sherman tank...

so other than qa1, what are some good brands? What does the fk stand for when you said get chromoly fk ends? Anyone know any good places to get rod ends? Also what is the difference between Teflon, Kevlar, etc. lined ends? Are these the qa1's you guys are talking about or a different style from them? http://autofabcart.net/qa1xmr3chromemolyrodends-1-1-1-1-1-1-2-1-3.aspx

my buddy just ordered one for his three link from hm-engineering. I just ordered uni-balls from them. Called Jack Medina there, great help and can tell you what you need if you are uncertain.

Our 4-links are made with 1/4 wall for "retard strength" and tapped either to 5/8" or 3/4" depending on what rod ends you want to use. Our rod ends are cast body and then machined tread. Give me a shout if I can help. dan@fbirides.com

I use HM-Engineering.com as well. Jack is more than helpful.
