It should bolt on. But some of the automatic transmission are electronic control. So you would need all the wiring harness for the transmission and the computer for it.

so i have a 89 with a v6 with an auto tranny, if i put a 22r in my truck it should just bolt up to it then.

no. the R series engines can swap around. but the V6 has a different pattern all together to the tranny. and ive heard the autos make the trucks pretty underpowered. why not use a 5 speed with the 22R?

i was just wondering. i want to swap everything eventually maybe even with a small block.

In Dirty's case the auto is wanted simply for the matter of personal preferance, plus he doesn't want to deal with the clutch master stuff. Can anyone give me a length measurement of an auto for the 22r? Are the 3 and 4 speeds different by any chance? We are trying to figure out driveshaft path and clearance but don't have a trans yet to work with. If I can get a length measurement we can figure it out roughly and keep working while we look for a trans. Thanx guys, the help is apreciated
