Would there be any problems putting a 2.6 head on a 2.2 block and could i use my intake and weber off the 2.2? Would there be any advantages to do this head swap? Thanks!

I know minitruckers arent supposed to say this but that would be impossible. those heads are so much bigger. the head bolts are nowhere near eachother. and honestly, they suck too unless you get an aftermarket amc casting. Because the mazda ones crack over time instead of when they get too hot. the 2.6 has a timing chain, the rest have belts. getting a belt to work. It would be easier to put any motor into your truck than try to fit a 2.6 head to a 2.2 block The intake and header patterns are too far off to make fit. Not to be a bearer of bad news

oh thats fine. I just hear my son always talking about swapping heads on honda civics. I didnt know if it was possible to do the 2.6 and the 2.2. I'll stick with my 2.2... it's fast enuf to drag.... drag frame that is. LOL!

There are only 2 other heads that will interchange, one is from the Mazda 626, MX-6, or Ford Probe with the 12-valve head F2 block (same block as the B2200) and the other is from some Kia Sportages. There are other 8 valve heads that fit but they are the same design (i.e. B2200, B2000, 8-valve 626). Both the 12 valve and 16 valve heads can greatly help with performance but both will require a lot of fabrication so much so that it is easier just to do an engine swap.   Mazda (not ford) still makes the B2200 overseas starting in 94 they equipt it with the same head that is on the 12-valve sedans mentioned above except it has a different intake manifold and distributor setup to make it fit with a rear wheel drive platform. If you can get ahold of one of these it will bolt in with no modifications as long as you have everything needed from the deck up.
