so my bro has a blazer he got from indiana and we had to put a new battery in when he went for his inspection they told him the computer had been reset and wasnt reading properly..to drive it for 100 miles and come back soo they did and there still telling him it wont read any info on his envioment control shit...is there anyone who can do a inspection near raliegh...or tell me what this computer crap is about

you acually only have to drive 10miles. Let the car get sit for a while and the temp drop to less then 100. Get out on a Back road. dont go over 45mph and not over 3000rpms. drive 5miles no faster then 45. then turn around and go back the same distance. that should reset the emissions. this is kinda hard to do but if done right it will work.

mines being a pain too, for a small little bitty vacuum leak that is only hurting the 02 sensors and not the cars power...driving my crazy, gd ses light

the sensors are "not ready." the vehicle has to go through certain drive cycles.

IF YOU TAKE IT TOO A CHEAVY DEALER THEY CAN PLUG IN A TECH 2 SCAN TOOL AND TELL YOU WHEN THE READYNESS CODES ARE SET OR WHY THEY WILL NOT SET YES IT WILL COST YOU SOME MONEY BUT THAT WILL BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF THE FINE FOR NO INSEPTION. WE ALL HAVE NEW COMPUTER AS OF NOV. 1ST THE STATE DROPED THE BALL ON THE INSEPTION SHIT BUT THE DAMN STICKER'S ARE GONE..

go get you a transport tag and never worry about it again. $14 a year and you are done...no inspection. lol. NC's little loop hole.

you dont have to drive it a certain cycle to get it to pass. the cycle is just a garenteed way. you can do the cycle to pass within 15miles or you can just drive the car several 100 miles and the codes will aventually be ready.
