do you flip it? i know about flipping the lower, but wasn't sure about the upper. i have stock arms and drop spindles on 225/40/18's. and is it ok to keep the stock balljoints, should i replace them with something that will allow more travel? im looking to get around 10" of lift. thanks.

I'd like to know this answer as well. I'm not sure but I believe, people use to pie cut the upper control arms. I plan on doing this to my toy as well. I really don't have any money to spend in my project so I'm trying to do every thing I can with out spending any money. I would like to lay it out on 18's as well. I know the upper ball joint binds before the lower. And the steering linkage will bind before the upper. Then you'll have the caster rod hit the steering linkage. I really wish I could afford to buy some dope arms.

You shouldn't have a problem laying on 18's with a drop spindle Brad, there should be no need to flip the upper ball joint. You may need to pie cut the arm to adjust the angle of the upper but thats it. Your 10 inches of lift should be no issue either, those ball joints have good travel. A friend of mine just put a Toy clip on his Bronco 2 and he is lifting about 12 inches. Try and sink your lower bag mount into the lower arm some if you can, this will allow you some more lift before the upper arm wants to start hitting the upper bag bracket. There was a good article on how to do this on a toy in MT a while back on their Weekend Warrior project. See if you can find the article and read up. You could also hit up Sadistic Iron on here, he has lots of Toyota bagging experience.
