I love that answer from DHAVEN creating friction through sanding with a flammable product. That is the smartest thing I heard all day . tech4life is right some epoxy primers do give you that window of oprtunity, but, I wouldn't trust that too much. 2 types of adhesion that's it. Right after you spray the epoxy primer put a couple coats of urethane primer "top coat primer" something that sands really good. Hit me back if you got anymore questions. Fully Licensed to answer this stuff.

someone must be sanding really fast if their makin enough friction with sandpaper to start a fire.... we should all be sure to wear the full faced mask and protective clothin like it states on the back of the sandpaper too incase metal shards fly off while wet sanding and gets into our eyes

180 is WAY too coarse for epoxy primer, Brad. Epoxy primer should be blocked with 400-600 grit. If you need something more aggressive, your panel(s) either weren't ready for the epoxy primer or you might have a problem with the equipment applying the primer (the settings) or your tecnique.

I'm an idiot. I was thinking about blocking primer/surfacer before topcoats. sorry.
