here is what i got with the kit. can i weld the lower bag mount to these struts? or will i damage the strut? i need to weld to it cause they didnt send the nut that threads on the stut to hold the bottom mount.

well looks like the bag mount is aluminum but i will still need to weld the lower mount in place.

I wouldnt weld on that why not order the nut made for it??

Are those lower brackets threaded? That's either your solution or it adds to your problem.

no just the strut body has threads. just talked to the manufacturer and they said they weld to those struts all the time. the bag brackets are held up by the metals rings in the pics, which gets welded to the strut too. they also have a set screw.

can you post more info on these struts and in your build up thread can you show your construction of these struts?

You need three threaded lock rings. One to lock the lower mount,a second one you can weld a bag mount onto, and the third to lock against the second. There should be no reason to weld on the strut itself.

Is that strut any good? Why is there only about an inch of shaft?

hey Adam check out my undercunstruction forum i put some new pics of the struts. i think im gonna try to TIG all this stuff. threaded nuts wont work for the bag cause it needs to sit higher than the threads. the bottom mount (to spindle) is too loose to clamp onto the strut body.

the struts seem pretty good. the shaft pulls out like another foot or so. i was told thats is why you can weld on them cause they aren't under high pressure like most shocks
