ok i picked up a lil mazda that im going to work on.... without doing any research, will an optima yellow top be sufficient enough to run the truck and all the minitrucker accesories such as compressors, stereo etc.?

second question.... if a bag says it is a 1/4 npt then i need to get 1/4 inch air line and fitting correct? or is it i need to get 3/8 valves and fitting and line because the inside of them is actually 1/4? i always get this cofused and its been a while!!!

thanks!sorry for the ignorance!

A red or yellow top Optima should be sufficient. You may want to upgrade the alternator though. The Mazda alternators are pretty weak.1/4" npt refers to the threaded hole diameter in the bag.You can get fittings with a 1/4" npt on one end to 1/4,3/8,1/2,etc on the other end.Hope this helps.

I had one of those shitty used batteries from auto zone that cost $20 in mine. You do need to ugrade the alternator. GM one wire works. Search mazdabscene.com for the alternator upgrade.

if ur running 1/4 port bags, run 3/8s ptc to 1/4 npt fittings on the bag. then rest 3/8s
