I know tons of people have tweed. well im getting my seats recovered in tweed by my a neighbor. my question is where can i get it by the roll that will is durable enough for a seat upholstery. do i just ask for tweed??? i dont wanna waste the money and get something wrong. i know its kind of a dumb question that will have an easy answer so go easy on me. thanks. -jason

Most of the people I know that have tweed are not happy with it. It is not very durable especially if you put it on seats and armrests. There may be different types of tweed I dont know about though...

The first time I had tweed a looooong time ago, the truck was outdoors everyday and the material ripped it after a a couple of years and got pretty brittle. When I redid my current interior 9 years ago, the tweed is still holding up good. It was a better quality tweed. The truck isn't always outdoors, but for 9 years, it still looks great. I am getting ready to re-do my interior but the old interior still almost looks like new. It all depends on how much wear and tear you put on it. The may have furniture tweed and another type of tweed which would be more suitable for use in vehicles interiors.

it doesn't hold up for squat if your planning on driving the hell out of it i would strongly suggest not going with tweed.

It's actually called contract cloth and you can order it from lots of places. We used to get it from Keyston brothers. Google em. It is used extensively for office and commercial furniture. You just hafta get om that has the proper UV protection. There are different grades.
