cons: piece of shit

pros: cheap piece of shit

do it right and get a jd2 or pro tools, dies are the pricey part, one size die is about the cost of the bender itsself, but you will not be stuck with poop bends

It does 1 1/2" tube, my brother used one on my truck that he is building... and im pretty sure that alot of people have used them in the past... i think the green toyota with the all tube chassis and painted under the cab with the volkwagon engine used a harbor freight tube bender too..

the bender is ok but just remember to use one size small die and at least 1/8 wall tube

JD2 benders are dirt cheap these days. You can have a manual one with a stand at your door with a nice 240 die for like $500 these days.

The HF pipe kinker isn't worth a damn. I had one a long time ago, it snapped at the base and hit my hand, and shattered my wrist. I threw it away around then. I was trying to bend 1.25" .120 wall tube.

WHat they said...I had to really reinforce mine, and extend the handle on it to do 1.5x 1/4 DOM. It is just more trouble than it's worth. If ur gonna use it once then it's ok...but if your gonna use it to produce parts...I wouldn't waste your dough. Also, I used a piece of 1/8 aluminum inside the die to make it not kink the tube....or filling the tube with sand helps also.

I thought the HF unit was a pipe bender not a tubing bender. If its the orange looking thing with a bottle jack in the center its a pipe bender. Post a pic of it!

On a side note, why is the upper 4-link bar on the right side in closer than the upper left bar? You can really see the difference from the mitre cuts on the crossmember.

the upper bars are the same length, and one mounts over slightly farther because of the offset of the pig on the axle
