for the guys that Zed their own frames, what was the cost in material? with the help of christmas i hope to have enough to buy some stuff to do it. I just want some idea on what to expect. Thanks

honestly ive never done a Z(not yet) but it can not be that much material wise as long as you have the welder and the know how.

usually i just see the use of a little bit of plate to taper the two back together and make it strong. and whatever has to be done to move the steering box back down. or maybe you luck out and have factory u joints in the steering shaft. id say get a nice big section of scrap plate at the steel place or somewhere and you're good.

whenever i did my ranger all i used was 3/16 plate to make the plates to reinforce the frame where i cut it and used the same stuff to make my engine mounts to drop the engine back down. i did have to buy some exhaust wrap just to put around the part of the exhaust that was pretty close to the shifter cable just to be safe...

Nice, thanks. So the frame goes up 2" and the core support for the radiator goes down 2" right? is the anything in the way where i need to make my cuts like the fuel lines?

yep thats correct, i did have to make some brackets to hold my fuel lines back close to the frame. nothing major though, and i did make my own tube trans mount and had to cut the exhaust to bring it up closer to everthing to keep it from dragging...

IT DOESNT REALLY COST MUCH BESIDES THE METAL TO MAKE SOME GUSSETS TO REINFORCE IT, IF U DONT  Z IT UP ENOUGH YOU WONT LAY OUT IN THE FRONT. JUST FYI.
