Anyone ever used  Sherman Williams before? The shop on base here says you have to use S W in their paint booth. I'll be painting the c10 and using the same colors.

Ive used it.......but no booth is specifically designed for a certain brand of paint.....either way, its not my first brand of choice, but everyone has their own preference.

yea im also not really sure why you would HAVE to use S W. But if its their booth and thats what they say then you dont have much choice about it. Sherwin williams makes a good automotive paint thats a little bit better priced than some of the other brands. the shop iwork at in the evenings uses SW and ive never had any problems with it. Just wondering do you have any experience with paint and body work? Good luck with everything.

they might be under contract with sherwin williams. i know a dealership bodyshop i once worked at switched over to sw and if i remember right sw actually gave them a paintbooth for signing a contract with them agreeing to use their products for however many years. i've used sw and really like it, its whats on my isuzu and has been holding up for  a few years now

I drove past a Sherman Williams today on the freeway. I could use a new paint job!

Yeah I'm pretty sure it's a contract type deal. It's the auto body shop on Camp LeJeune, there's this old guy that runs the place and he's real strict. As far as my experience, I've done one complete paint job and a few small jobs. (Such as bumpers, tailgates and a firewall.) It's always been my own stuff though.

Sherwin actually makes a decent paint, see if they will let you use their dimension base (alot cheaper and covers better). and use 950 clear, slow drying, but lays out nice. BTW their primer is THE best
