i am going to need to add joints to the steering on my dodge to compensate for the bd & the z. i'm trying to get parts together & i'm trying to decide whether to get a double u joint or 2 joints, a shaft & a heim for stabilizing. would 1 setup be better than the other for my application? between the z & the bd i'm looking at about 5" off difference from stock.

It totally depends on how everything is set up. I can't even give you a guess withou seeing it.

Double u-joints are still counted as two so you will still need a heim to stabilize the shafts if you are running more than two u-joints.  But like Max stated its hard to say without seeing the setup.
