I had the dakota digital gauges and they worked great. I know the lag you talk about but that's from 150 to 0. It only seemed to occur then. They also do all numbers, not just even or odd. The reason the dakota digital display only has blue, teal, or green is because the actual 7 segment display lights up not just some backlight that looks kinda cheezy. I bet performance they function exactly the same. It's just a matter of opinion of what you like better. Wiring harness vs not having one, the look of the gauge, and the price difference.

Excellent price!!  Just waiting for tax money and I'll be ordering a bunch of new stuff from you guys.  One question I have is do you price match?  I know of a few items that I found cheaper other places but would like to order just through you guys.

will the AVS gauges fit in the square/rectangle dakota digital slot? Don't want to have to cut up my dash.   or I may put these into the isuzu getting tired of crappy analog gauges...   nothing against my dakota's they are great. Never had any problems for 4+ years on the same set. I think I have a loose ground so at low pressures one of the gauges will read "ERR" but I don't fill like pulling my bed just to fix a loose ground on a truck I drive 50 miles a month.    now I just need AVS to start doing full custom gauge conversions like dakota digital... can't afford there $1000 for some digital gauges...

Edited: 2/3/2009 9:04:22 PM by geatEdited: 2/3/2009 8:57:24 PM by geatHeads up guys...The AVS gauges SUCK!. I have had problems out of mine non stop. Every time that I have had problems with them they always tell me to send my senders in and they will send me new ones. A nice fix eh? I started a thread on the s10 forum about the problems I have been having. Kris (who used to work there) said all of the problems me and the others have been having were problems that was discovered in testing before they went on sale. After she posted this on the forum someone has delted that post.  http://www.s10forum.com/forum/f212/ive-had-enough-of-my-gauges-386330/ Read more there ---------------------------------------------Originally posted by AVS_JEFFEdited: 1/12/2009 6:39:52 PM by AVS_JEFFACCURACYAs far as testing for accuracy, Doug DeHaven from DJD Laboratories (http://www.djdlabs.com) tested them within 1-2 PSI.RELIABILITY

We include a 1-year warranty against defects and WE DO stand behind it.  HA..Reliable. Far from it.COMPARISON****************************************************************DAKOTA -Vacuum fluorescent display-You only have the choice of blue or teal and you must choose only one. AVS -LED backlit display with 7 built-in colors at the press of a switch-It’s easy to match our gauge with your interior lighting. Even if you change the color of your interior, it's easy to change the gauge to go with it.  If you own a shop, it means that you only have to stock ONE part #.****************************************************************DAKOTA -Brushed or chrome bezel (face plate)-You must make a choice of one or the other. AVS -Brushed, chrome AND  black bezels.  You get ALL 3!!!-You not only have an option of a black face with ours, but you actually get all 3!This also leaves you the option to have one of the left over faces painted or powder coated. Once again, if you own a shop , it means that you only have to stock ONE part #.****************************************************************DAKOTA -Sorry! No wire harnesses for sensors- You must supply your own wire to connect your sensors to the main gauge.  Oneproblem that many people have had in the past is the 5 separate grounds that can come loose under your vehicle. Not too mention you are having to spend more money on wire. AVS -You get two 15’ harnesses (fronts) and three 20’ harnesses (rear) -We make life easier by supplying you with a plug in 3-wire harness for each of the sensors.  All ground and power connections are done behind the gauge making it easier to trouble shoot if a problem arises and keeps the grounds in onecommon spot...  and away from water and corrosion!

-Flimsy as crap. Ive had 4 out of 5 my connectors come out. So now I have moved on to soldering all of them.

****************************************************************DAKOTA -Gauge can read 150 or 400 PSI-  Most of you these days are running a Viair or AZ compressor and using a 200 PSIpressure switch.  Soooooo, most of you will go with the 400 PSI sensors which cost more.  Plus, I do not know of anyone who is putting 400 PSI in their bags, unless they are hopping.  Most hoppers don't even run gauges.  AVS -Our gauge reads up to 230 PSI-If you are running a typical 200 PSI system (or less), then our gauge has you covered! Our sensors are more compact than the DD ones and they plug into ourharnesses that are supplies with the kit.  They also look badass! They are made out of aluminum and are then anodized for a clean finish. We've engineered our gauge to go with todays standards.

Todays standards? What exactly are they, tell me please. Your harness is flimsy, it does not work. Flimsy things and mini trucks do not go well together. Also your sends are crap, they are not reliable at all. Also they have a problem with leaking.

******************************************************************DAKOTA Price: From $295up (w/150 PSI sensors) From $340up (w/400 PSI sensors) Plus shipping

IMO the DAKOTA  are well worth the extra price.

AVSPrice: $250 + FREE shipping

Edited: 2/3/2009 9:48:09 PM by stockfloored93just a few things, why would you need 3 bezels? thats just more stuff to get lost imo. if you decide you want a brushed bezel than brush it, if you want it black paint it. oh and dakota digital offers black bezels too. with the dakota digital guage you dont need to buy all 400 psi senders, its one 400 psi and the rest are 150. so you have 1 400 for the tank and the ones for the bags are 150. you dont have to buy all 400 psi senders. also one of the other nice things about it i dont think anyone mentioned was that the dakota digital re-configures it self for the amount of senders your running, for instance, if your running front and back only it will have 2 numbers and the words front and back, if you are running 4 senders it will have all 4 numbers, i dont know if the avs gauge does that or not.it is nice that you offer wiring harnesses though. the whole thing about the grounds on the dakota digital one is stupid though, all my senders are grounded with my valves there is really only one ground in the front and one in the back, and if you ground it with a bolt with a lock nut the chances of it coming loose are slim to none.
