Do your hazards work?   The third brake light is a different circuit.   There is no relay for brake lights. At least not one I have ever seen.   I would look into.....   The turn signal switch in the column. the brake lights run though this switch. Hazard switch on the column. Brake light switch on the brake pedal arm.   Good luck.

alright thanks for the help, i checked, my hazards/turn signals and running lights work, the brake lights are extremely dim tho, barely come on  and then turn off maybe the switch on the pedal?

I used to work for a cadillac dealer and i have seen and replaced the brake light switch because of no brake lights. Its located under the brake pedal as stated above.  Also keep in mind that the truck is a 94 so maybe it has nvr been changed and just wore itself out.

Replace your relay on the firewall. I got a 1994 Chevy truck for free and the relay was missing. Took me two weeks to figure out is was missing! Plugged it in and wanted to shoot myself. Hope thats your problem. My relay was near the Brake Booster
