ya its crazy how many miles these cars will go. I had a 91 accord with 405,000 miles on it that I bought for $100 just to field hop it, that thing went for days getting beat to crap before the tranny went out, also had a 87 accord with 220,000 on it my buddies and I beat that one to s*it as well before putting a brick on the gas pedal, that thing went wide open for 15 minutes before it blew ( dam good show). I have heard of a few cases of 1,000,000 plus on a honda.  what the heck are they making these motors out of ?

Bought my 88 Honda Civic(my first car) with 202,000 miles. Sold it couple years later with 292,000 miles. Replaced the tranny but still had the origional motor. Now I have a 98 2.4L toyota tacoma. Bought it with 68,9xx miles and now has 125,000 miles and still runs like a champ. Only thing I have ever replaced on the Taco is the battery and misc. sh*t I fuck*d up while dragging and other abusive sh*t.  I can honestly say that my Tacoma has been a GREAT truck  and I have NEVER replaced ANYTHING...and I mean ANYTHING on my truck besides regular maintance. Only thing I ever replaced was: battery, tires, and the thermostat.

it might be that alot of the blocks are aluminum with really high nickle contented cylinder sleeves. and good valve guide seals.
