Im in the market for a clutch for my Isuzu and was wondering if the Centerforce Clutch is worth the extra money. Has anyone used one in there truck?

thanks,
BJ

i have one in my toyota, but it's only because it's a high horse motor.  for a stock motor (or close to it) it's not really worth the money unless you plan on really beating on it.

I bought one for my Ranger, but it wasn't that much more than the stock clutch.

I got a ACT Clutch in my 92 Mazda.  I like it and paid I think between 300-360 for it at the local speed shop.  Centerforce is good, but like Corey said not worth it.  But my Mazda is bored 0.30 over with a mild cam. Not much more power but it does the job, I get quicker response.  Go ACT. Centerforce is to damn expensive !

^^don't get me wrong, they're very worth it if you have the horses to acutally get the full usefullness out of it, but like i said, you won't even notice the difference if your motor doesn't have the ponies.  ACT is a nice one too, but if the guy has a stock motor...even that would be overkill.  i'd say go this route:   stock motor - auto zone duralast heavy duty oem replacement   mild build (maybe a cam & intake, slightly bored) - ACT   high horsepower or high torque - centerforce (or zoom or ram)

so corey, i plan on doing some work on my yota this summer. id like to do a early 22r block, a 20r head with bigger valves, a medium cam and alot of porting. i have a weber 32/36 already, and a pacesetter 1-5/8 to 2.5" longtube header. 4 into 1. i also wanna do a w58 tranny. ? ill have comp ration right around 11 with the pistons ill get. only mild bore to clean up the walls. so like 20 or 30 over. what im wondering, is should i got with an act or something stronger. another thing, do the w50 and the w58 use the same flywheel and clutch diameter, or will i need a larger flywheel for that tranny? thanks man.

depending on the carb you choose, an ACT will most likely be fine for you, but in case you're in the same "enough is never enough" boat as me, i'd prolly just spend a few extra bucks & go with the centerforce dual friction.  your pedal will be quite a bit stiffer though.  completely up to you though...a centerforce df might be a bit overkill.  i have to use it because i even slipped the lc clutch because my toy has 225hp (at the flywheel) & 210lb ft torque. (although i did put the power steering pump & fan clutch on it once i put it in the truck which prolly dropped me 20hp--ish)    as far as the tranny, i honestly can't remember the model # i have, but if i remember right, i have the 8 & 7/8" 8 pound aluminum flywheel

cool. ill look into it. i supposed the crank would have the same pattern to use a later flywheel which wouldnt be too hard to find i guess. and im kinda tossin the 7m idea around in my head again. one with a blower and dual webers would be freakin sweet. thanks for the info man.
