The stock frame on my SFBD project is 4" tall. I want a 2 1/2" body drop. I was planing on using 2x3 3/16" square tubing to replace the frame rails. My problem is the body mounts are currently flush with the top of the frame, and if I make the new ones flush, that will essentially give me a 1" body drop. Is there any problem with having the body mounts lower than the top of the frame? I may be able to get 1/2" depending on the bushings that I use, but that still puts me short an inch. I am trying to avoid doing a traditional BD on it also, since I am 6'5" 240lb and this truck is a tiny regular cab. I have considered the option of running two pieces of 2x3 on it's side, one 3/16" and one 1/8" the different thickness to keep the weight down, since this is a 100hp truck. I appreciate the help!
