I havent done one, or had one done myself but I would suggest taking it somewhere and letting them do it. Specialty tools are needed to narrow a rearend as well as custom axles, or resplined axles. I've been paying anywhere from $750 to $900 to get them done in my area. Cheapest i've found was in the Houston area for $850....but by the time I travel to Houston that $50 is ate up in gas......

i had mine done 2.5" on each side and chris from kustom kars here in TN did it, you will need custom made tubes to go in the stock ones and he sent me stock axels off to moser to be resplined. moser does them for 110.00 a pair on the resplining.

It cost me $675 to have the Chevy rear end under my Armada narrowed...with Moser supplting the axles.  Now I'm going to have to pay another $675 to have it done again since I didn't go narrow enough the first time... so make sure you measure twice, then measure two more times!

You should be able to get the housing done for a couple hundred bucks. My axles from moser were $235.00 andthey don't taper so you can get em narrowed more later if needed. I have a little under $500 in my 12 bolt with all new seals and bearings.  The housing is not hard, you just gotta have the jig to keep em straight. Find the local hot rodders and drag racers and they can steer you in the right direction.  I have a guy in San Antonio that did my housing .  I could give you his number if you can't find anybody.
