what you guys do?

i have birdmans truck up here at my house its a 98 s10 extracab 3 door truck he wanted the front section redone that another shop did so me and my friend said we would dot it and so he brung the truck to my house around july of 08 and to this day he has gave me any money to start on it, so its just sitting there in my way and i want him to come and get it but cant get an answer from him or out of him. so what would you guys do cause i told him he's got 20 days to come and get it or pay the home owner storage fees from the date of drop off and to be honest the max that im allowed to charge for storage is $150 a month and that totals up to be more than the truck is worht in my opinion. it has no motor has a sheet metal dash that has been welded to the cab no windsheild so the dash is rusted bad, but it was that way when i got it, it has a 3 link has hydros on it without pumps has a fuel cell sheet metal bed on the inside and its also rusted real bad that way when i got it and a few more things that it has and dont have but anyways what should i do?

drop it off @ his house & block the door, make him climb out the window from now on.

Try contacting him a few more times. If you have to contact someone else that knows him, see if they can get in touch with him also. It could be one of those things were his world has been turned upside down and can't be gotten ahold of due to things out of his control, death in family, health reasons etc. Wait out the next 3 weeks and if he is still a no show, just deliver the truck back to him if that is an option?   Just don't give up hope on him just yet but if you have too I guess find some place and store it? Sorry abour your dilemma!

Call the city, and/or the police and make a report. See what they tell you. You may also want to contact some of the body shops or mechanic shops in the area and see what they do in similar situations.   Or park it in the street in front of your neighbor's house and let the city deal with it.

his wife had the baby and they had some complications. i think he has taken different avenues now. last i heard he was throwing in the towel and quiting minitruckin. 

if its on your property you can call a tow company to take it away at his cost

thanks guys and taking it to him would cost to much to me and if he's throwing in the towel and going another way then he needs to let me know what to do with this truck cause if not its goin to the scarp yard for $5.50 every 100lbs and if he has had some troubled times lately i can understand that i have them also, but 7 months with no contact about this truck is not good on his end. but thanks for the input i got 20 days left to decide what im going to do

i am the said friend in the above statement.byrdman wanted us to fix it.it had sit outside the other shop till the entire truck inside and out had becomne a rust bucket.we cut him an awesome deal.less than 500 bux to fix the front suspension and un z the front clip and we were supplying the material.he stayed in touch for a while and then stopped returning my calls.i contacted him right before new years and he let me know what was going on with his baby.i said cool keep me informed.after things were okish in his world he contacted me wanting me to buy the truck and try an recoup some money by scraping it.the price was way more than i could possibly ever get out of the truck in any form.so now he wont return calls text or anything.the last i heard was i got someone intrested in buying it.the truck is at daniels grandmothers house and she has asked for it to either be worked on or moved.i told him in text and on his voice mail that it would be crushed if i didnt hear back from him.i have contacted several people that know him and they 2 can not get a response out of him.so what next.we have tried every thing possible short of coming out of pocket to tow it 3 hours 1 way to the city he lives .i have no idea where in the city he lives so that would be pointless to park it in his driveway or doorway or on the street he lives.i dont want the guy to lose his truck but what do we do?he doesnt wanna pay for the repair work,he doesnt wanna compensate for the truck being a lawn ornament for months on end and he doesnt wanna pick it up! please help

put a lien on it and claim it. sell it off for parts if you can.

7 months is more than long enough for anyone with any reason.  if the guy is quitting his hobby, then tell someone else to move on with what they have to do.  Its just courteous of anyone.  Get in touch with the local police and see what your options are in this case.  The guy has had long enough, and if he doesn't return any calls or messages, the truck is the last thing on his mind.
