92 is the first year of electric speedos in the pickups. you can get a box that has an adjustment dial to multiply or reduce the signal to adjust it. stock in toyota pickups is 4.10. dont think the 2wds had any other options. my 78 is the same as my 92 was. a change in the overall diameter does effect gearing, because of every turn of the rear end, you have different amounts of distance the tire rolls in that one turn. larger diameter means larger circumferance, which means a longer distance on a straight line. so, a shorter tire will rev up quicker but at a given speed have a higher engine rpm. but, assuming a 215/60/14 is what you have, and a 215/40/18 is what you will have, you will actually go to a taller tire. but, those are general numbers. for any tire, i wouldnt roll daily on less than a 45. 40 is okay if you have a decent amount of suspension travel and watch out for the really big bumps. i personally run a 225/50/16 all the way around on my 78 and its got very little travel due to the huge static drop. its roughly 6" drop all the way around. hopefully some of this helped you.
