Hey everyone I am back again with more questions. As some of you all know the engine in my yota has died on me and I am trying to see what I am going to do about it. I am considering doing a rebuild on the stock 22re it has and adding a turbo but I don't know if that would be a cost effective solution to gain power rathar than just putting in a bigger engine and calling it a day. I recently acquired a 95 bellybutton with a built 4.3 vortec that was built for the strip with a new tranny. The engine was in a silverado and it ran low 9's in the 1/8th but I havent had a chance to run it in the s10 yet because it has already managed to twist my driveshaft in half. So now both of my trucks are down and I am considering putting the 4.3 in my toyota but I don't know if it would be worth the hassle. I know a v8 would fit and work but since our economy is crap these days I am considering a v6 instead but a v8 would do. Has anybody you guys know done the 4.3 swap with good results? I am just trying to sort things out and make an improvement on my toy at the same time so any suggestions will help as I am undecided at this point. I really just want my toyota back on the road again. I would give the s10 to someone who would to a complete swap for me at this point as long as they know what they are doing. Thanks in advance.

i seem to remember there is a bolt in kit available. if its for the 89-95 in the avatar. dunno if its 4wd only or 2wd too. but, it cant be too hard. they arent much bigger than the 3.slow.

I have some nice bolt in motor mounts for your 4.3 swap

Any of the V8 mounts will work with the 4.3 as well.  They are basically the same block, just minus 2 cylinders.

Heres what Im considering. A 1uzfe v8, the 4.3 vortec, a 454 v8 (ill make it fit), a 1jzgte, or a maserati bi turbo v6. I am leaning towards the 1uzfe because then Ill be staying with the toyota brand but the maserati would be something different and yes I can attain one out of an older bi turbo coupe for around $1400 for the complete swap and a car included. The vortec is just here already and its a pretty powerful motor in the s10 so.... I am torn here but the one thing I know for sure is I want my truck back on the road soon. It sucks driving my alero instead of one of my trucks that have become yard ornaments. Damnit.
