so, on my 78 toyota the entire front suspension (uppers, lowers, spring cup, ect) all bolts on to the frame. id like to get a 2nd crossmember/suspension and narrow it. just a bit. like 2" maximum, so when i set the new one up i can run a little more offset than what i have to now. i can find wheels, but choices are very slim. i have a 16x7 with +40 and it barely tucks front and back. so, if i was to bring all the arms in, and readjust the tie rod ends to where the alingment is still good, will there be any ill effects? i thought about just narrowing the lower control arms as well. if it helps, i also plan to get some of the new drop from 89-95 drop spindles and brakes. i love the camber, but its eatin up tires.

im still tossing around ideas, but thank you for the responce none the less.

As long as you don't change any of the mounting points and just narrow it, there shouldn't be any issues.
