York Compressor seized up!

so my york went and seized up on me. dont think it was gettign enough oil,. anyway heres what happens: i turn the motor on and hit the swithc to kick the compressor on and its so locked up that it kills the motor by stopping the rotation of the belt.... or if it already set to go on it so seized it wont let the motor turn over. so can i rebuild this york or should i go junkyard diving and geta "new" old one to replace it? id liekt o fidn the cheapest, quickest solution thatll be reliable as im plannign on taking my truck to Bring The Noize in 3 weeks and dotn havea lot of money to spare.

Got to autozone and tell them you need a AC compressor for a 71 Mustang with a V8...   Like 160.00 plus core...I'm pretty sure you have a core sitting there though..

how do i make sure a junkyard compressor isnt seized up? and i guess this ones dead huh?
