Probably a stupid question, but I haven't ever experienced this in the many years I have been working in photoshop, but when I use the eye dropper tool to select a color it put the selected color as my background color instead of my foreground color....just started doing it a week or so ago, somehow got it back, and now it has reverted again.  I have searched the help and have looked at as many tool presets as I think applicable...but nothing...I have even tried resetting all the tools to default settings and still nothing....

I'm sure it is something stupid...but right now am having no luck with it...hopefully someone can save me the time of calling up an Adoble representative and sitting on hold forever.

Head over to your "color palette" and make sure your Foreground color is selected, your background color is prob selected which will make your eyedropper tool select to the background instead of foreground...   also note, once you switch it back to normal, there is a shortcut for if you ever want to select to the background again just hold the ALT key while selecting your color with the eyedropper hope that works out for ya bro....

Well wasn't even thinking about that...but yeah I actually can't even select my background or foreground now that I look at it...when I click on one or the other it just open the color picker menu...and yeah been using the alt key to do the reverse since this happened to select the foreground color...but when you get use to do something one way for years...agghh...any more suggestions or should I just give good ol Adobe a call?

That was it Doug...you the MAN....I knew it was something stupid...I have my workspace set up not to open the color palette box on the right because whenever I need a color changed I usually do it from the the one on my tool bar...again awesome to know....I knew I could count on you since you seem to know all the little ins and outs.
