wondering if anyone has done this before? I know the cap technically can't be welded but screwing sheetmetal to the cap and then laying some fiberglass over it would be almost the same thing right? just thinking of an alternative to using a boot to make a make a seal between the cap/bed to cab

cut one off of a blazer and weld it on. There is going to be too much flex for it not to crack I would think.

Hill's Hot Rods took a 78 blazer and cut off the roof of a suburban and welded it place of the removable fiberglass top.   The bottom picture is not Hill's blazer but it will show you the difference and what all went into it.

damn that was alot of work to weld the top on blazer and it looks great.
