I think he's on version 3 now. He keeps making it get better and better w/ the details incorporated. I would definitely go w/ the original and not a copy.

not sure how its 'based off it', there's only so many ways to build a product that does the same thing. Its called competition, not really copying.   Being said, they both look like a nice product.

I'm pretty sure SD admitted to using the Porterbuilt as a reference, as they had one in their shop.   Either way, Nate is a cool guy and his product looks great. I would support him, as he is another small business like many of us here. However his new Version 3 does not work with the SD lower arms.

i got a '77 c10 that i wanna bag. but actually, i think im trading this dude and getting a '69 c10. either way, i will have an older fullsize bagged by the end of the year. and in either case, i'll be using the porterbuilt front kit and either the porterbuilt or a kp components kit for the rear. nothing against suicide doors, their shit is always top quality. i've just been following the portbuilt for so long on chevy forums. both have very similar prices and i'd say both are top notch quality. you can't loose really.

I have to support Nathan Porter in this one.  I bought my dropmember from him last summer and he is a great businessman.  I ran into a few issues with the kit fitting on my frame because I was putting the kit onto a 3/4 ton frame.  I called Nathan personally and and told him what was going on.  After I sent him a few measurements, pictures and e-mails.... some new one off parts were on my doorstep (which fit perfect).  Nathan has great customer service skills and I wouldn't spend my money anywhere else. Its hard to find businesses that are willing to work with us when something doesnt fit quite the way we would like it to (which we all know how "bolt on's" fit.......or dont fit most of the time), let alone make us new parts without asking questions. A big thanks to Porterbuilt streetrods for helping me out!
