rubbed a hole in my cylinder up front (93 accord wagon) i know i will have to fab up a new mount at the top of the strut tower, but is there any reason a 3" wont stand up to the load? thanks

I dont see why they wouldnt work with the fabrication for mounting. There already lifting alot of weight with the back half of your wagon.

I would stick with the 4 inch cylinders and make them work. I never had any rubbing in my wagon and it laid out on 18s. Where is it hitting? We have 3.5 inch cylinders in the Prelude and it takes 155 psi to get the front up. We have six gallons of air and we can get the front up once. If we drop it back down before the tank is full again the car stays down. I'm sure there is a way you could make it work with the 4 inch cylinders. They ride a lot better and you don't have to wait as much for the pressure to build up.

pearldrop (Chris):                     TufLuv80 (Jason)"Where is it hitting?"                       I was hope'n to hear some one say that!  Here's what i've got..  The Knuckle has/HAD that little nipple on the back side.. i grinded that off, but that is the area that rubs the can.  I elongated teh holes int he strut tower where the can bolts up as to mount it as inboard as possible (away from the knuckle) I'm rulling on 15s (but i keep 'em clean--Hhahahahaa) with 50 series tires.. the front is about 2 inches off the grond when totally deflated.  I cut the top 3/4 of an inch off the wish bone...  It only rubs when the car is all the way down, (which is most of the time..) It rubbed from the start (both sides the same) its been about a year of rubbing now, and so yea they rubbed so much, made a baseball sized dent, til  it finally broke thru.  (if i do go all the way up, they get a little stuck-hahaaa..  the weight of the car pushes the cylinder back down easly, but you can feel that it is a little chopy.  any way thats all the details, thanks for reading,,,,,  Any other thoughts??  THANKS!

Try using these...they are only 1 5/8." Oh yeah, they ride nicer, lift higher, and lay lower than cans.

Now I remember that mine did rub there too. I just had to grind the back of the spindle/knuckle smooth. It never hit very hard, just enough to mark it but not hurt the cylinder. Try putting in a camber kit. That will move the spindle/knuckle out a little bit so it is away from the cylinder.
