Looking at getting a paint gun for mostly primer and maybe some single stage sometimes.  Want a decent gun but not trying to go broke ( got  brother that went to refinishing school and has a nice SATA for the fancy stuff).  I'm considering a Harbor Freight one since he also has one for primer and stuff and actually really likes it. I was looking around though and ran across TCPGlobals website.  They have any gun you could want but also have their own brand for very good prices ,as good as HF.  Anybody ever used their guns?  The price being the same or close, the main advantage I see in the TCP one is that you can get rebuild kits for em. Just looking for anybody's experience with this brand good or bad.  Thanks

I haven't used that brand but for a cheap gun that worked well for me for awhile is a AMpro they sell them at advanced auto parts stores. Believe it or not they spray pretty good. No where near the sata we use for good stuff but for touch ups, primers, and single stage the AMpro works really well. I hope I could shed alittle light.

I just use one from Harbor Freight, and it works great.  The cups are a little small, which I'm sure I could change out, but other than that, it works great.  It's the little purple one, don't even know who it's made by, but I sprayed my fenders with it and that's it so far.  I'm a cheap bastard though, so keep that in mind!!

yea i use the 2 pack from Harbor Freight and it works fine like he said could use a bigger cup...but other than that its a nice gun for little jobs but some parts on it are cheap and now well made but it does very well for the price

Thanks guys fr the insite.  Thats what my brother says bout his.  Just thinkin if I can pay the same and get one thats rebuildable I'd be that much more ahead.  Anybody used the TCP Global one?

how much does that one run? i have a mountain HVLP gun with a 1.3 tip and it sprays base and sealer real well for small stuff and spot priming small stuff it was 75 bux and it came with a regulator, and i have a matco HVLP gun(not sure who makes em) with a 2.0 tip for primer, hell i even shoot spray polyester out of it and it was 125 bux. they work for what i need.

I have heard this about the Harbor frieght gun:   Unless you are going to spend $400+ on a gun, just get the Harbor Freight one. I painted the dash in my old Mazda with mine. it worked great.

I paint professionally and started with a harbor freight gun. (the purple monster). I now use mostly SATA, Devilbiss, iwata and Accuspray guns. I used the HF gun for about four months as a helper and it worked great for primer and door jambs/ underside of hoods and stuff. If you are using it alot the seals will eventually go bad. But for 30 bucks you really cant go wrong.   Josh <ST> FL
