how big is to big of a hole to fill with filler?

id def weld that if you got a welder, BUT i think id be ok.  i wouldnt fill it tho if it was me

You need to fill any holes with filler, no matter of the size.  A hole will allow moisture to get inbehind the filler you lay down.

you have to weld them.   You cant put filler over any holes, because moisture will soak into the filler from the backside. Aswell they will swell out of you dont weld them in properly.
