I'm getting my car painted this summer blue with a black top and I was hoping to have peal sprayed over the whole thing. I can eiher buy blue pearl or get some 'white' pearl for free. I'm pretty sure its just normal pearl, since it was used on a white car. Either way specifically how does a different shade of pearl change the look. Will there be a major difference if I use this 'white' pearl rather then blue pearl. If I'm not mistaken both are/would be from HOK.

Thanks

Thats a broad question, You can make a major difference just in the placement of he pearl. Especially the color of it. White pearl, in your clear will make your car look almost like it has a white glaze over it, which would look good. A blue pearl will will have the same effect it makes the car look to have a blue glaze. Now other things determine the showing or the look of the pearl also. If the pearl is in the base, shot over the base, in the clear, and the color will change depending o te amount of pearl you use. so i would do some research to find what i really wanted and whats going to make you the happiest. That way your not going in blind.

i know we're painting my car the same way as we painted the other car and the pearl will be in the clear. I've been told to go with the blue pearl from all my 'painter' friends, but just looking for other opinions here.

just my opinion here... and im a HUGE fan of white pearl.... but over black im not sure how good thats gonna look compared to the blue pearl. i think the blue pearl would make the black POP next to actual blue. the white pearl seems like just too much crap going on at once. although white pearl on blue paint is DAMN nice. depends what you are going for though too, i guess?

Have the painter shoot out two test panels and see what it will look like if the two pearls.one panel with white peartl and the other with the blue pearl. Also dont put to much on ot it might look dirty

we sprayed blue pearl in the clear on my bed cover(which is jet black) and i really didnt like it. once i put it out in the sunlight the bed cover looked blu not black. we only use .3grams of pearl to 32 ounces of clear.
