So hers the story. I blew my universal bags that slid over my stock struts so I decided to order some new pre fabbed air struts as I figured these would be best in the long run(more drop and built for the car). Well the ones I ordered were Easy Street bags for the cobalt/HHR/Ion and they have decided to do a re-design. At first I didn't mind and stayed with my current guy, but now I hear easy street has canceled his order because it will be another 4 months. I can't do that since the car has to be ready before the end of April. So the options I have right now are:

Get my supplier guy to ship me the oldder model Easy Street struts (what every one is running)
Get my money back and order from some one else.

To expand on the 2nd option, who would I order from that makes struts for the Ion. I am looking for the most drop that I can get. If a manufacturer reads this I have a 225/40/18 tire if that makes a difference on how the strut will kit the tire. I don't have alot of fab skills nor do I have the location to do so. So an unbuild universal kit is a no go, just due to lack of my skills and my friends skills. This is the first car we have ever bagged.

The only other thing I was thinking of was to do hydros cylinders in the front and do that hybrid system that was on the dually being built here.

Right now I think my best option is to get the older/current model cobalt struts, but I figured this is the best base for knowledge so I'd ask here.

Sorry for the novel.

order some struts and send tem to me. I'll biuld them and send em to you. i may have the same size wheel/ tire as you so i could copy mine. but you know how far it will go with what i got. how much drop are they telling you the new version of easystreet will give you? the problem with air is that the bag can't sit lower than the tire cause it will rub. so the only place to make up space is te top side which is a problem cause you cant get a bag that will compress enough.and the bag mounts and bearing add to the height. looks like without changing your strut towers hydrolics may be the only answer, which everyone from AON has already said.

well the only issue with switching completely to hydros is that I have no money. I was only tossing around the idea of the hybrid set up. My gut is telling me to get the current model if the easy street bags since that is what I intended to order before i was told of the new model being designed.

any idea what will be different about the new model?

the new model "promices" to be a lower drop, less noise and better performance. How much lower not sure. I just got the current model air shipped to me. I should receive them on friday. I have deffinetly learned my lesson though. Mac Strut cars are ment to be on hydros. Next time...   I'll post pics when they come in.
