You can make out the tab that's welded to the inside of the strut tower and see where the shock runs. What you cant see it the spacer that is between the lower control arm and the shock, because it's hideing behind the brake line in the pic. I think it's about 1" thick, not real sure right off hand it was just enough for the shock body to clear the c/v shaft. In fact it may have been one of the spacers, that come with some shocks, that was just lying around.

Edited: 3/5/2009 8:49:37 AM by cuzicanFound the rear. This type of set up is unnecessary it can be done alot simpler, I just wanted the look of the suspension in the trunk. The allen head bolt is the upper mounting point of the rear shock.

thanks for the pictures guys. I think I'm just going to try it out without struts first and if I don't like it then I'll copy your idea cuzican for the front and I'm still not sure about the back since I plan on keeping everything stock inside

I just finished the install on my 97 hatch with easy street struts up front and 3 inch cylinders in the rear and it rides just fine and sits about 2.5 inches from laying pan.  i am running a 205/40/r16, yeah i know a small tire combo but it looks good and i can still drive at full tuck.  gotta love air

I was thinking same tire combo or 195/40/16 but 2.5" from laying pan is 2.5" higher then I want to be

well in that case you better get cutting strut towers and clearancing for wheels cause it ain't going lower on mine till i do that and i don't see even with hydro's going any lower cause my upper control arm on the front is hitting the strut tower and the rear is locked up
