Bought a 63' F100 with a Solid front axle

How should I go about bagging this thing?  I've seen subframes bolted to stock frames, $2300 IFS kits but I want something in the middle, something not so ghetto or not so expensive.

its a ford, so 5x4.5 most likely. id say either swap the front clip of a fullsize mopar car or ford car something big and wide and already having alot of weight and engine size designed around it. or run later model chevy truck suspension and rear axle.

its a big ford bolt pattern....   i did a 75 camaro subframe. pretty simple, only took a couple afternoons and most people had a hard time tellin where i grafted it in. stock arms and drop splindles will lay a 28in tire with ease....i had my axles drilled to small gm like the camaro rotors, made wheel choices unlimited, and my dad did it fo free! i had under a grand in the frontend when it ws all said and done..that was drop spindles, new bearings, joints, bushings, rotors, calipers, lines, everything, plus buying the subframe.

You could also go with a Mustang II set up. It can be fabed from scratch or you can buy a Hub to Hub kit from someone like Fat Man Fabrication. There are several other companies out there also. These kits come with new front, control arms, brakes, and even the airbags, everything you need to convert it over and they are specific to your vehicle. They usually run between $2000 and $3000 and have different options. Some may think it's a little much but worth it in the long run.

There was a guy on some ford forum site, that did a later model grand marquis clip swap. It was actually pretty badass as the crossmember is aluminum and bolts in. Pretty heavy duty too. You should be able to locate one in the junkyard somewhere. He did it on a 60's ford f-100 also. Good luck. JR
