ok so i just got my new 4runner grille and headlights in yesterday that i ordered from FBI. well i went to install everything today and realized that just about all the holes are off a little and a few dont even come close to matching their corresponding holes and even looking at moutning he headlights it seems the driver side light is hitting the carbon canister and is probably gonna have to be relocted or moved over some. also the main mounting tab that snaps into the hood latch piece is way off to the driver side instead of center with the emblem on the grill. now i remember looking at this topic before to see what all i needed to do the swap and i only remember everyone saying just grind the holes bigger for the headlights.so could someone shed some light on this for me and explain what would be the best to modify the core support without having to change to the actual 4 runner one. any help is appreciated.

You will need to drill mostly all new holes for the headlights, and also trim a bit for the top tab where the core support is flanged. As for the grill tabs, you will need to trim a spot in the hood latch for the grill to clip into. Once you get in there and start working with it, it is much easier then it seems. I did mine in like 45 minutes.

um ok but what is the best tool to cut these holes with cause is not like they gotta be huge and some only need to be stretched over about a quarter inch or so

id say a drill bit the size of the square hole, then use a triangle or square file thats small to square off the corners.

ok appreciate that help joe. and what about moving the carbon canister so i can mount the driver side headlight?

If I remember right, I used a jigsaw and was very careful with the blade, and for where the headlight mount and cutting the flange I used a 4.5" grinder. As far as the canister, I honestly have no clue what your talking about. I already relocated everything for the tires so I am not able to really advise you there.

oh ok. yeah thats what me and buddy was talking about yesterday. and ilonisn the canister is on the outside of the core support sits more to the driver side right behind the grille. i could be wrong in what im calling it but i was thinking thats what it was.
