Hey guys,
i think this has been talked bout.  But why is it everyone uses a yota front clip.  could you use an older s10 clip instead? or am i missing something...  is the track width to wide?  i just thought it would be easier.  better brake options and so forth....  im fixin to go to the salvage yard to get a clip so any info is good info!!!! thanks yall!

the bolt pattern is the same with toyota

is that the only reason why? anyone else?  i was just thinkin it would be easier to get a v8 in there and better brakes.... swap kits and such... i was just concerned it would be to wide..l btw my ranger is a 91

Mustang ii or yota clip they have the best suspension geometry IMO

I don't see a problem at all.  If you are running a 18, and 20" wheel combo, it would work out pretty good.  Are you building a complete frame???  I just got done with a full frame for a 1950 Chevy coupe, and it was REALLY easy.

yota has the same bolt pattern, better suspension geometry and looks 10000x better than the nasty looking s10 front end IMO.

i dont disagree on how it looks. my biggest question is about the width..... if its a lot wider than the ranger or not..... and there is a lot of great brake upgrades for the s10 not sure about the yota..... as far as bolt pattern goes im not to concerned with that cus im going to narrow the rear end a lot any ways...  my goal is to use a 355\25\21 in tha back..... and maybe an ls1 under the hood....thats another reason i was thinkin bout the s10 is ther are plenty of swap parts available for the ls1 into the front clip...... thats the goal any ways......  my god have you seen how mcuh those tires are....  im gunna have to save for a while!!!!! lol  keep it comin with the responses guys.... does anyone actually know the track width for the older rangers?  thats what i need to find out....

THEY HAVE PLENTY OF OPTIONS FOR TOYOTAS TOO. SEEMS LIKE YOUR STUCK ON AN S-10 SO GO AHEAD AND GET YOU AN S-10 CLIP

I agree 100%! Also if you are that concerned with fitting everything the way you want why not build the entire chassis? It would look better than scabbing a nasty looking S-10 front clip on it. This way you can set up the suspension properly for what you are doing instead of "dealing" with what GM gives you.

yea i guess yall are right.... i was planning on buildin the chassis but am a bit uncomfortable putting together the front clip.... i've welded in many mustang 2 before but never built one from scratch..... chris how much would it be to build me a front clip for a ranger..... everything included steering brakes ...... i'd be interested in knowin your thoughts i respect your work a bunch.... i guess i would need to put pen to pad and figure out how much it would cost for spindles arms new brakes versus having some built with better geometry....... it might not be that much different now that im thinkin bout it......
