454 Gas mileage??

Probably a dumb question. I am looking at good deal on a 84 Chevy dually with a good running 454. Was wondering what kind of gas mileage you guys are getting with you 454 trucks. Im sure not the best was just wondering what to expect.

8-12 lol. thats about what my dad got in his old dually.

My dad has an 86 sub with a 454 with edelbrock intake and flowmaster straight exhaust.  On a good day towing 20 foot car trailor or not 8-12 max mpg. hope this helps

i had an 84 3/4 ton burb 2wd 454/400 turbo it pulled like a MF but the mpg was 8-12,10 most of the time but the power of a big block is the shit. running 80 just mash on it and pass anything. the day i sold mine i told the wife i wish had not sold that thing.

mine gets 6-8.8 highway and 6 towingoh well

My 2000 3500 crew cab dually got 6 in town and 10 on hwy. Didn't matter if I was towing or not got the same. It had the Votec 7400 454.

i know mine is bigger than a 454 but uhhhhh, well lets not talk about gas milleage. I look at it like this, instead of how many miles per gallon, i say how many Gas Stations per mile. LOL

haha big blocks and gas. my '77 c10 with a 350 in it gets 10-12 mpg.
