i'll do my best to try and write this clearly.  my dually is baggedwith a parellel 4 link and a watts link with jony joints on either end,  i really have no good space to run shocks unless i cut up the bed more then i want to , so i'm thinkin of running the shocks  horizontally off the watts center pivot bar to the frame notches. so when the truck goes over a bump the watts link will push on the shocks on both sides. myquestion s are ... will it work and be effective? any idea on how the shocks would work with the watts bar being mounted in the center of the axel? (would i get side to side sway?)  would there be enuffmovement of the watts to allow the schocks to function right ? and finally any idea on what i should be looking for as far as shocks go? ie , big bore , real stiff?      thanks  devin

The idea has merrit, but has one major flaw. The shocks will be completely ineffective when only one wheel hits a bump or when the cab leans from side to side.   I have a hard time believeing that there isn't any room for a shock. Bilstein has a really short shock with lots of valving that was originally designed for the rear of a baja bug that would undoubtedly fit in the mix somewhere. Otherwise I would suggest building a bell crank so that the shocks can be run anywhere you need to. Look at the Datsun and see how out of the way the Shockwaves are. You can do the same thing with your shocks.

thanks , i was thinkin thesame thing about when only 1 wheel his a bump.  i dida few measures thisafternoon and it wouldnt work anyways with my watts unless the center pivot bar was longer.  bell crank it is
