MAACO IS ALWAYS GOOD FOR A CHEAP FACTORY PAINT JOB. NOT SURE IF ANYONE IN THE CUSTOM PAINT BUSINESS WOULD WANT TO DO IT SO CHEAP?? AND IF THEY ARE, YOU HAVE TO WONDER WHY!

Materials cost close to that for a basic job but it can be done for that-if you know somebody. I'm doing all my own painting and have spent at least that so far and I am not done yet.  It is exspensive but if you want it done right take it to a pro and save the dough.

see if you can find the local paint store for automotive and ask them if they have the south american version of sykens.  we bought a gallon plus the reducers and clear and activators for 380.00 bucks had enough to do two trucks with left over.  so if you can get the paint you might find a paint that will spray it for about 700 or so if he does not need to get materials....

I agree with everyone... 1500 is cheap in just materials... i paint on the side and trust me thats cheap. If i was doing a truck and only had 1500 in materials i would re think spraying it. If you spend 1500 on a paint job done by someone else i can almost guarantee you, that you will not be happy with the end product. The best phrase to keep in mind when paying someone to paint your truck is... A cheap paint job is not good and a good paint job is not cheap. The problem lies in the prep with cheap work. The prep will get all kinds of corners cut on it and then your paint will look like crap in a couple years, and then that 1500 that you spent is all wasted. It will be sanded off and swept into the garbage. Not trying to cut you down and not saying spend as much as u can on a job, but from experience a good job is never cheap. Hope this helps you in your decision, i would save your pennies and get a quality job that you can be proud of. You will be a happier person in the end. Dammit i feel very wise lol
