Well guys my worst nightmare was realized today!! I just recently bought my first house and high on the priority list was a garage well that all came true and i finally had my own minitruckin palace. This is where the nightmare comes in i finally get my pup up on jack stands today and decide its time to rebag her and get her fully ready for spring, well when i climbed under to survey the land what do i find but rot spots in my frame!!!! I knew there was a small one that i was planning on cutting and replating but now i also have a large one right behind the rear cab mount... What do you guys suggest im thinking my best and easiest plan of attack is to buy another chassis roll her in and start bagging which of course has me set to go way beyond what i planned and probably bodydrop it but i dunno i am at wits end with this thing!

I think everyone has gone through something like this with their own truck. I know I have several times! It's not impossible to fix but it just depends on what you want to spend to fit the problem. Making a new frame or repairing yours shouldn't be a huge problem for anyone that knows what they are doing. Hang in there, it's only metal, it can be fixed!

yeah i suggest just stock floor body drop with a new frame from firewall back.

If you want to have the truck just bagged and fun to drive cut the rot out and weld in needed plates. If you want to b/d it then see about building a fire wall back.Good luck and glad you found it now and not when the cab broke while driving.

I guess that kind of leads to a new question but an isuzu frame is pretty small and all the stock floor drops i have seen were with 2x3 so i was actually wondering how i could go about stock flooring this truck? I would love to keep the room since my ranger is bd traditionally i know how cramped it can get! I have not really seen a stock floored isuzu would laying 2x3 on its side be the way to go so its 3"wide and 2" tall? I was going to keep this a simple project i wanted to fix up and just re sell but i just cant do it i want to keep it and drive it as like a shop truck so i have to figure out my route of action! besides everyone knows bd is like the totally cool thing to do lol  crazy how its just a standard thing you must do now a days!

Please do not lay it on it's side!

Oh i didnt realize that was a no no but to be honest i wouldnt have prolly done that anyways cuz it really didnt seem right in my head... I know i just have to figure something out before i say forget it strip it and trash the rest i need to get this project done so i can get my rqnger in and finish that too!

My isuzu had a rot hole in the same spot, i fixed it by starting a new 2x3 box frame from the firewall back with a stockfloor bodydrop. I suggest you do the same.

well I have decided i really just want to try and fix this problem so i can sell the truck and move on to working on my ranger which is my real project. Is there any negative effects of cutting this out and trying to patch it and welding on a new cab mount? I want to make sure this thing will pass inspection I dont want to try and sell anything unsafe or "trick" anyone! Thanks Joe
